I’ve always been interested in what makes people tick.
In 2013, I began a series of conversations in Denver-area coffeehouses and other venues that I call It’s Like This. In 2015, I moved to Davidson, NC, where these conversations continue.
I’m a veteran public radio journalist who worked for 22 years at member stations in NC, IN, CO, and CA. I started my career hosting a late night jazz show; the majority of my work was in news, including time at NPR in Washington, D.C. I co-created, hosted, and served as executive producer of Colorado Public Radio’s daily program, Colorado Matters.
In 2010, I left public radio to move into the communications and public relations field, working first as the Communications Director for IAALS, the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, a think tank at the University of Denver committed to improving the civil justice system.
Most recently, I was the Communications Director for the Colorado Department of Human Services, the state’s second largest agency, with 4,600 employees dedicated to being “People Who Help People.”
