In 2003, while I was host/executive producer of Colorado Matters, a show I co-created for Colorado Public Radio, I interviewed Chris Ransick. His first book, Never Summer, had won the Colorado Book Award for Poetry. Ransick was Denver Poet Laureate from 2006-2010. He has written several books of poetry and fiction, including his latest, Language for the Living and the Dead. He also teaches at Lighthouse Writers Workshop, Denver’s independent creative writing program.
